Sidney was born and raised in Hoover, Alabama.  She has two older brothers, Brad and Scott, and her parents are Steve and Janice.    Her oldest brother is married to Raemi, and they have a young daughter named Evia.  Sidney also has a Beagle that she loves very much.

Sidney started playing organized basketball when she was 4 with the parks and recreation league. Coming from a sports family, and having older brothers always meant playing with a ball of some sort.  Sidney thinks her game takes after her grandfather, Col. Earl Spencer, who played for the New York Knickerbockers before being deployed for war.  He was an amazing shooter and scorer as well as an extreme competitor who rarely lost.

In college, Sidney majored in Sports Management. However, she has a huge heart for people and missions. While in college, Sidney got to go to Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic on Mission trips. Eventually, when basketball is over, Sidney wants to do sports mission trips and travel all over the world using basketball to bring people to Christ.

Sidney feels it is very important to get involved with the community. In college, she served on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes In Action (FCAIA) leadership team, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), participated in food drives, holiday dinners for the homeless, tutored at a local housing project, built houses with habitat for humanity, breast cancer awareness runs (Race for the Cure), children hospital visits, adopted families for holidays, and partnered with the Home Depot to build playgrounds at the Boys and Girl Club.

Now Sidney is living in LA hoping to get involved in the Athletes in Action (AIA) group to get involved in more community outreach.
